RCIA--The formation of adults and process by which they are initiated into the Roman Catholic Church is known as the "Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults," or the "RCIA." The process is designed for all persons, regardless of religious background or philo- sophical persuasion, who genuinely seek, by God’s grace, to live their lives in the distinctive Catholic Christian faith.
Weekly RCIA classes are called Catechesis or teaching. The classes, which are conducted over several months, cover all aspects of the Catholic faith. At St. Andrew, both the unbaptized and baptized Christians from different faith traditions participate in the same RCIA class.
Those who continue on the path and choose to complete the journey receive the Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil.
